Pretty much every body is aware that Rob Halford, former lead singer of Judas Priest, released a Christmas album last year. And the promotional single cut with his group Fight is fairly legendary. But Rob's 1992 recording of "Silent Night" is a little less well known (having been unreleased and under wraps until last year). You can purchase "Silent Night" by Rob Halford through his metal shop (OK. Couldn't resist the pun)--through Halford Music on the web.
Starman, is releasing a charity single in the UK on Monday. "My Christmas Wish" is being released to help raise money and awareness for the RSPCA. The 5 man band Starman features an 80s styled pop and dance mix. Lead singer Andrew Stone will host a program on Britain's Sky1 satellite television network the night the single is released called Andrew Stone's Meaning of Christmas. In addition to singing, Stone is also known as a bit of a comedian--king of the one-liners, so that special could be almost anything. The single is available for pre-order in the UK through Play.com. Visit the Starman website for more.
Here's the Christmas single from Sleep For Sleepers. Sleep For Sleepers are a Christian rock band and I think you'll find this single satisfactory on both counts. You can find "Weather" at iTunes. I know I should have more to say about it, but I don't. You shouldn't take that as a bad thing.
