Following my jaunt through Comfort Stand's New Years comp (below), I did what any obsessed Christmas music maniac would do and checked out the rest of the label's catalogue for other hidden treasure. And this 2004 Holiday single really did the trick. "Tidings of Comfort" is a collaborative effort of Comfort Stand artists Jan Turkenburg, mr_melvis, Otis Fodder, and Suzanne Baumann. It's a bouncy little jingle, with some nice jazzy touches, that just screams "Merry Christmas!" And worry not--in spite of the 7:56 time shown on the listing, the "A" side is actually a much more standard 3:43 in length (though it might continue for 8 minutes inside your head). Choose the instrumental "B" side if you prefer the ditty without the perky Christmas lady--though, personally, I think she's the delightful handful of tiny marshmellows in this particular cup of hot cocoa.
