Stubbys House of Christmas

I'd have told you about this yesterday, but the Internet was broken.  Seriously.  Cyber Monday and my provider was not up to the task.  Nobody in my neighborhood was able to get on line for any length of time and, when you did, things moved liked molasses until, a few minutes later, you weren't on line anymore.  It was still like that at 3 in the morning.  So anyway, here's the scoop:  Pomplamoose has a download Christmas EP which you can only get by donating a book to the Richmond Book Drive.  Donate a book, get the download.  Let them explain it.
OK, got that?  Go to the Richmond Book Drive web site first.  Click on one of the "View the Wish List" links.  Buy the book.  Make sure to select the Richmond Book Drive as your shipping destination.  Be aware that you will be charged for postage as well as for the book.  Copy your order number.  Return to the Richmond Book Drive page (it will stay open while you deal with Amazon).  Click on the Thank You link in that page.  That will take you to a page where you will paste or type your order number as prompted. Hit the link to "get your Pomplamoose Christmas album" and then download the songs, one at a time.

I know I'm explaining that a little too thoroughly but I'm not a complete moron and it took me 40 minutes to figure it out.  And, not to be the internet's only Scrooge on this, but I find these people to be very obtuse and annoying.  Already.  I wish their 15 minutes were up.  I think they're overly full of themselves.  And 5 songs is not an album.  At best, you'll be spending $2 per song (postage, remember?) which is about twice what you'd pay for anyone else's holiday charity efforts.  The least they could have done is put them in a zip file.  Is that too much to ask?

But it is a worthwhile cause and I actually think a couple of the songs are worth having.  So a bit of a "Bah" from me on this one, but not the full "Humbug".

Here's the song list:
Up On The Housetop
Jingle Bells
Deck The Halls
Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy
Always In The Season

Glad I'm not the only one who thought they were being a bit difficult with their charity. Not that one should complain about charity...

I respectfully disagree. This duo is achieving new found fame via the Hyundai commercials, and instead of trying to profit from it, they are giving to charity. As for the price...are you really complaining about free? You're not paying $2 per song, you're donating to a charity and getting a gift in return. BTW - I found a book including shipping for $4, so that's more like 80 cents a song. But if it took you 40 minutes to figure this process out, then it doesn't surprise me that you paid more than you wanted to when you didn't have to. Sorry, I'm just teasing you. These 5 songs are a great addition to any holiday music collection, and I'm not sure I've heard 5 holiday songs by a single artist this year that are any better. So don't listen to these scroodges, give a book, get some free music, and smile ;-)

You're right, five songs isn't an album.

But it IS an EP, which you know, is mentioned right there in your post. And full of themselves? Yeah, the one thing I really get from their nice, sweet, independently created music is the unbelievable EGO of these people. Then again, maybe now I'm the one being obtuse.

How about relaxes, smiles and just enjoys the season.

Hi! Thanks for the directions, it made it a lot easier! Also they now have it as a zip file!
